Oxtravaganza 2025

For two exciting weeks, Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras comes to town and Oxtravaganza is your guide to the best parties across Darlinghurst, Potts Point and Surry Hills. Have no doubt, this is where the action is! There’s a jam-packed schedule with so much happening - performance every night of the week from Drag to Cabaret. Hit the dancefloor and get lost in some sweaty Disco Nights. Lots of Art and Drawing Classes too.

If you haven’t been yet, now is the time to check out Qtopia - Sydney’s own centre for Queer History and Culture, right by Taylor Sq and the newly painted Pride Crossing.

Every weekend corks will be popping across the “gaybourhood” as Big Drag Brunch kicks off in the restaurants, bars and cafes.

At ESCAC the dedicated Family Zone returns for a whole day of kid-friendly action including Drag Story Time sessions, face painting, crafts and goodie bags.

If it’s Retail Therapy you’re looking for we have plenty of options, whether you’re searching for sequins or spandex, leather chaps or angel wings. On Saturday 23rd come and ‘Shop til You Drop’ as stores along the strip have special offers and drag performers roam Oxford St, with plenty of style advice, attitude and photo opportunities.

The world-famous Mardi Gras Parade finishes up the festival on the final weekend. Away from the bright lights and bustle of the main drag there is plenty of other offerings too.

The Hollywood Quarter, just behind Harmony Park, is the hippest place in town with a stellar line-up of drink and dine options as well as live music venues.

And if you walk towards the Coke sign you will discover the newly revived Kings Cross Quarter with small bars, speakeasies and plenty of action. Further along, The leafy environs of Potts Point Village offers a range of renowned restaurants, bars and fashion and design stores.
